From the distance, I thought someone had thrown a red piece of plastic in our garden, but it was this treasure.
The colour is so vivid. Almost as intense as the smell – it took me a while to realize it was the fungus and not a decomposing animal nearby. The flies seem to love it, though.
So beautiful and so disturbing.
