Cleaning branches pruned from the plane trees in the fall.The large ones will be used for windbreaks, climbing plants, etc. The smaller ones will be mulch, either as is or after further shredding.

Siberian pea shrub starting to grow leaves.One of our 3 main nitrogen fixing support bushes, they had a strong start last year but ended up suffering a lot due to the heat and drought. Let’s see if this year is better.

Irrigation season is almost here. There was a leak in the mainline, where I’d hit it too hard while hand cutting grass.After fixing it, started checking whether all sprinkler zones are still working. Most of them are fine, some will need new connectors.

The corn we planted just over two weeks ago in the west swale is growing nicely.Took the opportunity to plant some more. The seeds are from @permaseminka, the only EU store we found that carries varieties mentioned in Carol Dieppe’s resilient gardening...
