Wrapping cling film around the trunks of pine trees in the garden and close vicinity.

For the first time so far, most of them are full of pine processionary caterpillar (Thaumetopoea pityocampa / lagarta do pinheiro) nests. They seem to be descending earlier than usual this year according to multiple reports in the area. We already had a very itchy experience in the garden 😵‍💫

They apparently don't like to walk on the cling film and keep circling around for a while. If we catch them in time, we can then vacuum and destroy them before they can bury in the ground for the winter. Let's see if it works!
