This is not a black and white photo.

There was a fire next to our village and this is what is left.

Just a few days ago, we were playing here with the kids. Now there are ashes.

Right next to the burnt area, you can see what grows: eucalyptus, heather, gorse, and pine trees. All burn easily.

If you are planning to plant, please, please consider other trees. There is so much that can grow in Portugal.
