The first of the surplus Khaki Campbell drake’s on its way to the oven.Out of 6 ducklings, 4 are male. We can only keep one for the 2 females.They are an egg laying breed; this one was 1.4kg dressed weight. It should still make for a nice family meal.

Duck processing day.Having (hopefully) done his duty of bringing fresh genes into the pool, it was time for the adult drake to go. We’re done with ducklings for the season, and will keep some males out of the current batch.This was the first time we tried...
