One of our beautiful geese got completely entangled in the fence. For once, she seemed glad to be on our lap and allowed us to take care of her as we slowly and carefully untangled the knots, especially those around one of her legs.

As we feared, some knots were so tight that they acted like a garrote. Her foot had started changing colour and had lost some sensitivity.

Once she was free, I gently massaged her for a while, and eventually she was ready to try walking. She does have a limp, but she can walk. She’s now resting, and we’re hopeful that she’ll make a full recovery.😥
