A small, regular gathering for children aged 6 to 12 at Alo Land in Salir do Porto. Two afternoons a week, in a living place that takes children seriously.<\/p>\n

For this age<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Children between 6 and 12 are in what Montessori called the second plane of development. They are ready for real work, big questions, collaboration, independence and the satisfaction of things that take time and effort.<\/p>\n

This is a space designed for who they are right now \u2014 curious, capable, social, and hungry for meaning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

What happens in an afternoon<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Each session grows from the life of the place and the interests of the group. Children might:<\/p>\n

Research a question that came up the week before. Work in the garden or outdoor kitchen. Care for the animals. Build something. Write, draw, map or measure. Walk in the forest with a purpose. Cook a meal and share it. Take on a project that spans several weeks.<\/p>\n

Music and mindfulness weave through the afternoons naturally, not as separate activities, but as part of how we work and how we are together.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The space<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Alo Land is a regenerative quinta on Portugal's Silver Coast. The outdoor kitchen, garden beds, duck pond, forest paths, fruit trees and work spaces all become part of the environment for the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Children move freely between inside and outside. The land is always doing something interesting.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

A small group<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n

The group is kept small so that every child is known, supported and genuinely seen. Places are limited.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

\u20ac150 per family per month, approximately 8 sessions.<\/p>\n

Payment in euros or cryptocurrency. If money is an obstacle, get in touch. Part of the fee can be met in other ways: tree saplings, books, or a skill or knowledge you'd like to share with the community. A parent who teaches watercolour, weaving, or something else entirely is as welcome as any other contribution.<\/p>\n
